Personas
Saved AI characters with avatar, prompt, model, Kokoro voice, memory, and optional image workflows — including built-in Mini.
Answer first
Personas are reusable AI characters. Configure once — name, look, prompt, preferred model, voice — then start chats or drop them into group rooms without retyping the system prompt.
Story-style overview: Meet Personas.
Built-in
New installs include:
- Default — empty prompt; uses your global settings
- Mini — a practical assistant (avatar + prompt + a Kokoro voice). Seeded once; if you delete Mini it stays gone
You can still create as many of your own as you like.
What a Persona stores
- Name & avatar — chat list, header, group cast
- System prompt — tone, expertise, rules
- Provider + model — on-device, LM Studio, Ollama, JAN AI, cloud — without changing global defaults
- Voice — one provider (app default, Kokoro, ElevenLabs, or Grok) plus that provider’s voice. Kokoro also keeps a speed slider. Configure ElevenLabs / Grok under Settings → Voice first.
- Memories — share selected facts, or keep this character out of the global pool
- Custom params — optional sampler/load knobs while this Persona is active (how params apply)
- ComfyUI workflow — optional graph for art-oriented characters
Create a Persona
- Open Personas from the home row, the Mac nav rail, or Settings → Personas
- Tap Create, or run the AI Persona Generator for a starting pack (name, prompt, avatar)
- Set appearance, prompt, and optional model / voice / memory / image workflow
- Start a chat with that Persona — or add it in Group chat
Persona Generator
The generator invents a coherent starting profile using the built-in art pack. Always edit the prompt so it matches your use (coach, editor, language partner).
Tips
- Bind heavy Personas to the home PC or LM Mini Home; keep travel Personas on-device
- Distinct accent colors help in groups
- Keep memory sharing off for sensitive roleplay
- Pair with Voice so each character sounds different in Call Mode — Kokoro, ElevenLabs, or Grok, not only the system voice
