macOS desktop

LM Mini Home is the Mac app — nav rail, local models, Share with phone, and chat sync with your phone. Connect for Mac is deprecated through the end of 2026.

Answer first

On Mac, download LM Mini Home. It is the real Mac app: chats, Personas, Arena, Settings, local models, Share with phone, and realtime sync with the phone. Connect for Mac is deprecated and keeps working through the end of 2026.

Install

  1. Get the LM Mini Home disk image from Download.
  2. Open it and drag LM Mini to Applications.
  3. Launch it. (Optional: Mac App Store build if you prefer that store.)

If macOS asks to confirm the developer, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and allow LM Mini. This is the official Home download from lmmini.com.

Local models on this Mac

Home can run models on the Mac (no extra server app required):

Browse under Settings → Models (same catalog idea as the phone: Faster / Balanced / Best, plus more). You can still point Home at LM Studio or Ollama if those are already how you work.

Share with phone

Home can be the brain the phone talks to — models on this Mac, or LM Studio / Ollama already running here.

  1. Open Share with phone.
  2. Keep it running (the menu bar extra is meant for this).
  3. On the phone: Settings → Remote Access → scan the QR.

Then turn on Phone and Mac sync so the thread follows you.

Connect for Mac is deprecated. Prefer Home for new setups. Existing Connect pairs keep working through 31 December 2026.

Kokoro speech

Home can serve Kokoro TTS to the phone over the same Share with phone path. On the phone, pick the PC/Mac Kokoro option in Settings → Voice after pairing. See Voice.

Nerds

Power-user pane: runtime, connection, analytics, services. Use it when something is stuck (model engine, Share with phone). Everyday chat does not need this tab.
