Overview
LM Mini is built so your conversations stay on hardware you control. We do not sell your data. We do not use your chats to train models. This page covers the website and the App Store / Google Play apps. The open-source GitHub build is a community stub: it does not use our production cloud project or Pro cloud services.
Chats stay local by default
Chat history, settings, personas, and server URLs live on your device (and, if you use them, on your own computer running LM Studio, Ollama, oMLX, or LM Mini Home). Ordinary chat is sent to the backend you configure — not to an LM Mini “cloud brain.”
App Lock PIN
If you turn on App Lock, the numeric PIN is stored only on that device as a salted hash. We never receive it. It is not included in Home sync, iCloud, or encrypted cloud backup. Forgetting the PIN means you must reinstall the app — there is no account reset.
Chat sync never stays on our servers
If you pair with LM Mini Home (Share with phone) or Connect (Windows/Linux) and use remote access or chat sync, traffic is encrypted with a key from your QR pairing. Our relay forwards packets in real time between your phone and your computer.
We do not store your chats on the relay. Sync is a live pipe, not a hosted inbox. If the session ends, we are not keeping a copy of the conversation on our servers.
Optional iCloud
On Apple devices you can turn on iCloud sync. That data is stored in your iCloud account under Apple’s privacy policy. It is off unless you enable it. It is not our relay.
App Store / Google Play build — extra services
The store apps may connect to Google Firebase so product features work. That can include:
- Anonymous account — a random ID so the app can talk to our backends. You can later link Apple, Google, or email if you choose.
- Firebase Analytics — app opens, platform, paywall views, and first purchase. Used to understand installs and subscriptions. Not chat text or prompts.
- Feature requests, changelog, community themes, voice catalog — stored in our database when you use those screens.
These do not run in the GitHub community build unless you point it at your own Firebase project.
Pro (store only)
Paid Pro is processed by Apple or Google. We do not see your full payment card. Optional Pro features (such as App Lock, encrypted cloud backup, Pro Search, or cloud API providers you configure with your own keys) are described in the app. Backup, when you use it, is encrypted with a passphrase you choose; we cannot read it. Cloud providers receive what you send them under their policies.
This website
lmmini.com may use a small analytics script to count visits. It is separate from in-app chat.
Version checks
The app may fetch a version file from lmmini.com to tell you about updates. That request does not include your chats.
Deletion
- Delete conversations in the app, or uninstall to remove local data.
- Turn off Home/Connect and iCloud sync if you enabled them.
- Email [email protected] if you have a linked store account and want help deleting server-side feature-request or backup metadata associated with it.
Changes
We will update this page when the policy changes. The date at the top is the latest version.
